Pairs Passing Game
Two players face each other and pass continuously, counting consecutive passes. A simple high-repetition drill to build platform fundamentals and rhythm.
Open Junior high →What are volleyball practice drills? They are grouped here by skill and by team — beginners, junior high, high school, serve receive, passing, serving, hitting, and defense. Open the hub that matches your search, then build the timed practice in SoloCoach so the gym runs drill by drill with a countdown.
Coaches do not need one giant list. They need the right slice: fundamentals for a first-year team, small-court games for junior high, or match skills for varsity. Each hub below answers a different search.
Skill hubs (passing, serving, hitting, setting, blocking, defense) stay skill-first. Audience hubs (beginners, junior high, high school) mix skills the way a practice actually runs. Serve receive is its own hub because live-serve first contact is not the same as partner passing.
Featured drills below are a sample from the library. Every card on the skill and audience pages includes setup, steps, and coaching cues you can run from your phone.

Filter the library, set 12–25 minute blocks, and run the plan drill by drill with a countdown — without rewriting the whiteboard.

Open Junior high →A continuous movement drill where servers, passers, and shagging players rotate through stations in a butterfly pattern. Builds serve-receive repetitions at high volume with built-in movement.
Open Serve receive →Hitters practice their arm swing and contact mechanics against a wall target. No ball toss variability — pure repetition of the hitting motion and contact point.
Open Hitting drills →Teams compete on a shortened court (front half), emphasizing net play, tips, roll shots, and sharp angles. Removes back-row defense and isolates front-court skills in a game format.
Open Junior high →Players compete to hold the "king/queen" position on one side of the net. Winners stay; losers rotate to the challenger side. Builds competitive intensity and consistency under pressure.
Open Junior high →A continuous-flow rotation game where players rotate through all positions on both sides of the net. Emphasizes game-realistic competition, rotation, and making every position count.
